Almost at the top of the island in between San Miguel (you may have heard of the beer) and San Juan, Benirras is signposted from the main road and is 9 km from of San Juan. It will be worth the intrepid adventure getting to this stunning wooded cove (or a cab). This beach is the stuff of legend where the island’s original hippies watch the sunset beating drums and yoga is practised. More hypnotic and spiritual than the Sunset Strip! There’s also plenty of restaurants and watering holes here to make a day and night of it. There’s a huge rock rising out of the sea here which is crystal clear and good for snorkelling.
